“I Love Liberian Rice” Partnership

Jubilee Justice is forging an important relationship with The Motherland in its new partnership with Robert Bimba, the founder of I Love Liberian Rice.

Mr. Bimba and his team in Monrovia, Liberia are growing rice in the same manner that we are—using the climate friendly System of Rice Intensification (SRI). Erika Styger, our partner, advisor, and founder of the Climate Resilient Farming System program at Cornell University, introduced us to Mr Bimba during his visit to the U.S. this past May with the hopes of a possible collaboration.

“It is important that we, in Liberia, grow rice as it is our staple food, " says Mr. Bimba. “We hope to reduce the importation of rice and become self-sufficient in rice production. Growing rice locally will also lift people out of poverty, create sustainable jobs, and help Liberians to eat healthy. The production of I love Liberian Rice can achieve our objective of food security for our people in the very near future. We are excited to partner with JJ and strongly believe that this partnership will be a win-win situation.”
